The launching of Salamandra in October 2000 was an unusual event in the publishing world. The brand new imprint was born strong, healthy and with many kilos of weight, since it was based on the foundation of a sufficiently established publishing house which, with its own structure and its own catalog of authors, had been operating for almost eleven years in the Spanish market under the Emecé brand, a brand which in turn accumulated a brilliant history of 60 years in the world of publishing in Spanish, both in Latin America and in Spain.
