His actions have drawn worldwide attention, a Nobel Peace Prize nomination and more than 100 days in prison.

Joshua Wong was born in 1996. He has been named by TIME, Fortune and Forbes as one of today's most influential leaders. In 2018 he was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his role as a leader in the Umbrella Revolution.
He is the Secretary General of Demosisto, a pro-democracy organization he founded in 2016 that advocates self-determination for Hong Kong.
Joshua jumped onto the political stage in 2011, at the age of fourteen, when he founded Escolarismo, winning protests against the forces of the Chinese national education system in Hong Kong.
