Clannad is an Irish music group from Gweedore (Gaoth Dobhair), in County Donegal (Dún na n'Gall). Their music has been classified as Folk (or Folk Rock), New Age and Celtic. The band is composed by Máire Ní Bhraonáin (now known as Moya Brennan), her brothers Ciarán O'Braonáin, Pól O'Braonáin, and her two uncles Noel and Pádraig O'Dugáin. Eithne Ní Bhraonáin (Enya Brennan), Máire's sister, Pól, and Ciarán, was a member of the group for two years from 1979-1982. The band won a Grammy in 1999 for Best New Age Music Album (Landmarks) and their sales figures are over 15 million. On August 9, 2016, at the age of 67, Pádraig Duggan died in the city of Dublin.
