Miel y almendras

Mouna Al-Husseini is the owner of the Cleopatra, a somewhat decadent beauty salon in a suburb of Beirut.

Synopsis of Miel y almendras

“Honey and almonds smells like Saturday afternoon, like nammura, that Lebanese semolina cake. Maha Akhtar gives us a story in the style of the Orient, typical of the great storytellers”. Mariló Montero

Mouna is a daring and liberal woman, who struggles to break away from rigid tradition, even though at 37 her mother still reminds her every day how badly she has steered her life.

Chance will bring Imaan Sayah, an important Lebanese diplomat, to the doors of the Cleopatra, and with her three of her friends: Nina, Lailah and Nadine.

After that first meeting, Mouna, Imaan, Nina and Lailah will develop a deep and honest friendship regardless of their social, religious and cultural backgrounds. The four will share moments of loneliness, heartbreak and even humiliation that will eventually forge an unbreakable friendship.
