Krisztina Tóth

Krisztina Tóth is one of the leading female voices in contemporary Hungarian poetry and one of the most renowned poets in Hungary. She has published ten books of poetry, four short stories and one novel, for which she has received the Graves (1996), Déry Tibor (1996) and József Attila (2000) prizes, among others, and her poetry and short stories have been translated into several languages. She is also a translator of literary fiction, poetry, children's literature and songs. Her poems reflect a powerful connection with different Hungarian and European poetic traditions, and show a subtle combination of visual elements, reflections and an emphatic and often ironic interest in everyday life and concerns.
