Caitlin Maude (1941-1982), was a poet, activist, teacher, actress, playwright and singer of sean-nós. She was born in Casla, in the Connemara Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking area) of County Galway and was educated in Irish.
She studied at University College Galway, taught in Kildare, Mayo and Wicklow counties and held other jobs in London and Dublin.
She began writing poetry in Irish in high school and developed a lyrical style in tune with the rhythm of his voice.
She died of cancer in 1982 at the age of 41.
